Privacy Policy and Terms of Use for AtTheTable.org
General Notice
| As the host of AtTheTable.org, the Innovation Center for Community and Youth Development (a project of the Tides Center, and hereafter referred to as Innovation Center) has created this notice of privacy to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy related to our web site.
We endeavor to keep this site available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. However, we are subject to the same technological challenges, including hardware and systems failures, as anyone else using the Internet. We will also occasionally need to bring the site down to make updates and content changes. Following are the terms of our privacy policy and the terms of use for users of AtTheTable.org: |
Privacy Policy
The Innovation Center for Community and Youth Development, host of AtTheTable.org, is committed to protecting the privacy of users of its services.
IP Address
We use your IP address (aggregated with every other AtTheTable.org user's IP address) to help diagnose problems with our server, to administer our Web site, and to determine usage patterns of different areas of the site over time. We cannot identify you as an individual via your IP address. It allows us to determine what country you are from and what Internet service provider you are using. This information is used internally only. This information will never be shared, bartered or sold, even in the aggregate.
Personal Information
| We collect personal information when we ask you to register with the site. We do this so that we can provide you with something that makes the site more useful to you. For example, we ask for your email address so that we can notify you when we've posted your submission to the site, or if we have a question about a submission. If you choose to provide information beyond the required fields in forms, we may send you information about our organization, the topic of youth and decision making and, occasionally, promotional or informational materials from some of our partners. We also give you the opportunity to sign up for - and opt out of - our e-mail newsletter.
This site contains links to other sites. The Innovation Center is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these Web sites. In addition, some areas of our site are provided by our partners. For example, the At the Table workroom is provided by the Forum for Youth Investment and the Get Involved! box is provided by Youth Service America. We will clearly indicate which areas of the site are provided by partner organizations. In cases where an area of the site is provided by an outside partner, that area will be subject to the outside partner's privacy practices. In the case of the Youth Voice Database, the data submitted to the Database on AtTheTable.org will be subject to the AtTheTable.org privacy policy. However, because the Database is a joint project of AtTheTable.org and Youth Service America, we will share the data entered here with Youth Service America. From time to time, we may also share information you submit (such as success stories, organizational profiles, etc.) with other partners of the site and with other organizations which have similar missions or objectives as at AtTheTable.org. Further, we may use this information in promotional or other materials aside from AtTheTable.org. For more information on how your posted information may be used by AtTheTable.org or its partners, see "Additional Terms and Conditions of Use" below. In all cases where we share information, we will prohibit such partners from selling, bartering, sharing or trading your information. And in no case, will the Innovation Center sell, barter or trade information you provide on AtTheTable.org. |
Other User Submissions
In many places on AtTheTable.org, we ask you to submit information such as success stories, organizational profiles, links, handouts, etc. To post such information, you must be a registered member of AtTheTable.org. Please note that when you submit any material to AtTheTable.org, you are granting the Innovation Center and AtTheTable.org a license to use, display, publicly perform, distribute, reproduce, modify and prepare derivative works from such material. Accordingly, we require that you only submit information that is owned by you or which you have authority or permission to submit to AtTheTable.org. Liability for posting materials without permission is the sole responsibility of the person who submitted the materials. If you recognize materials on AtTheTable.org that you believe are being used without proper consent, please notify our staff at info@atthetable.org. For more information about user submissions, please see "Additional Terms and Conditions of Use" below.
Updating your User Profile and Other Submissions
We try to make it as simple as possible for users to update their personal information. To update your information, go to the Update Membership link. You will be asked to log-in at which point you can update your personal information, as well as view any submissions you have made to the site that have not yet been approved or rejected. To update or delete submissions you have made to the site that have yet to be reviewed by staff and approved or rejected, please send an e-mail to our staff at info@atthetable.org.
Users under age 13
When you register to become a member of AtTheTable.org, you will be asked to verify that you are age 13 or older. This is because the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) requires that children under 13 have parental/guardian permission to release any personal information. We take this policy very seriously and will do everything we can to make sure we do not collect information from children without parental/guardian permission. If you are under 13, we will not activate your membership. However, we would still like you to have the opportunity to become a member of our site. If you are under 13 and want to become a member, and your parent/guardian approves, please have your parent or guardian send an e-mail to info@atthetable.org with the subject line: Minor Permission or call 301-961-2837. Our staff will respond with an e-mail telling you how to activate your membership.
Public Forums
This site makes discussion forums available to its users. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas is public information. We recommend that you exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information. The discussion forums are periodically monitored by our staff, and we have discretion to remove any postings that violate these terms of use or the rules of conduct for the discussion area (see Discussion area for the Rules of Conduct). Decisions to remove postings are at the sole discretion of AtTheTable.org staff and are final. AtTheTable.org shall not be liable for any delays in removing any postings.
Cookies
Visitors and users should be aware that non-personal information and data may be automatically collected through the use of "cookies." Cookies are small text files a website can use to recognize repeat visitors, facilitate the visitor's ongoing access to and use of the site, and allow a site to track usage behavior and compile aggregate data that will allow content improvements. Your continued use of AtTheTable.org following such notification of any such revision(s) shall be conclusively deemed as acceptance of and agreement to abide by all such revisions.
Additional Terms and Conditions of Use
By using AtTheTable.org, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
