About AtTheTable.org Partners

   National 4-H Council

National 4-H Council powers the technology of www.atthetable.org, hosts our website, and is one of our key partners. 4-H has been a long-time practitioner and advocate of youth/adult partnerships. In 1998, National 4-H Council helped to launch the At the Table initiative and hosted it for three years.

National 4-H Council works to advance the 4-H youth development movement to build a world in which youth and adults learn, grow, and work together as catalysts for positive change. National 4-H Council partners with the Cooperative Extension System, communities, and other organizations to provide technical support and training, develop curricula, create model programs and promote positive youth development to fulfill its mission. National 4-H Council also manages the National 4-H Conference Center, a full-service conference facility, and the National Supply Service, the USDA nationally authorized agent for the interstate sales of paraphernalia bearing the 4-H name and emblem. The 4-H name and emblem is protected under 18 U.S.C. 707. National 4-H Council is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.

   Youth Today Youth Tomorrow

The AtTheTable.org Advocates Work Room is hosted on the Youth Today/Youth Tomorrow (YT/YT) communications platform, an online space for joint work, information and intelligence sharing, and capacity building. It was created by the Forum for Youth Investment.

YT/YT will feature:

1) Infobank, a growing, searchable database of resources;

2) Reading rooms containing back issues of Youth Today, recent commentary by key leaders, Forum member profiles and other resources;

3) Issue rooms providing guided tours of important themes; and

4) Joint workspaces like the AttheTable.org Work Room. YT/YT is currently being populated with resources from a range of organizations -- it is designed to be a shared space, filled with content from a variety of sources.

YT/YT is a result of the Forum's commitment to build connections, increase capacity and tackle persistent challenges facing the allied youth fields.

   Youth Service America

Youth Service America (YSA)and AtTheTable.org are working together to bring you the Youth Voice Database. We are also pleased to feature Servenet - YSA's premier website for service and volunteering. YSA is a resource center and alliance of 200+ organizations committed to increasing the quantity and quality of volunteer opportunities for young Americans to serve locally, nationally, and globally. Founded in 1986, YSA's mission is: To strengthen the Effectiveness, Sustainability, and Scale of the youth service and service-learning field. A strong youth service movement will create healthy communities, and foster citizenship, knowledge, and the personal development of young people. YSA envisions a powerful network of organizations committed to making service the common experience and expectation of all young people.

   Youth on Board

Youth on Board helps bridge the gap between adults and youth by providing practical information, training and support - the all-important "how-to’s" that can be key to the success of young people as community leaders. Youth on Board envisions a world in which younger people are fully respected and treated as valued and active members of their families, communities and society. To this end, Youth on Board’s work is focused not just on skill building, but on developing "mutually respectful relationships between young people and adults" to promote the ability of young people to "move from the margins of their communities and into the center, where they can be fully involved."

Youth on Board was founded in 1994 to revolutionize the role of young people, ensuring that they are valued and active members of their communities. Working with community agencies, local governments, schools and foundations, Youth on Board helps them involve young people in decision-making positions. Since 1994, more than 8,000 young people and adults have attended one of Youth on Board’s workshops held all over the country and as far away as Japan.

Youth on Board also offers a wide array of publications and materials for the public. Our core publication, 14 Points: Successfully Involving Young People in Decision Making has sold more than 2,000 copies and has been used by several organizations looking to include young people in a program, initiative, or change effort. Their most recent, and long awaited publication, Your Guide to Youth Board Involvement and the Law contains practical information, flow-charts, and a summary of state laws.

YouthNoise’s mission is to connect, inform, and empower youth to improve their own lives and the lives of other young people through philanthropy, service and policy. Currently, AtTheTable.org provides content to YouthNoise for young people interested in youth in decision-making issues. YouthNoise also serves as a feeder site/organization to send young people to the AtTheTable.org site.

YouthNOISE is:

...about maximum volume. It's about the racket a bunch of young people can generate when they get together to make their voices heard.

...about being heard over the negative stereotypes about teens.

...a place where you can raise a RUCKUS about things you don't like, take ACTION and. Make a DIFFERENCE in issues that affect you.

YouthNOISE is a group of young people and adults working together to provide info and resources--via the Internet--that will spark youth action and voice.
